We share observations from Frangipani Estate Winery located on the De Portola Wine Trail in Temecula Valley wine country of southern California, less than 60 miles north of San Diego and 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles. We also introduce you to the most hospitable winery dog, Frannie, who sure has a nose for where to enjoy tasty wines! After our warm welcome, we share sights from their winery patio that overlooks its vineyards with breathtaking views of the estate. Perched on a plateau, this is where the wine tasting magic happens, where you’ll experience varietals such as Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot, and Syrah. The Frangipani’s have farmed for over three decades and all their grapes are handpicked with winemaking and bottling is done on the property. The feeling of the tasting room is of Old-World Heritage where family and friends are first and was built completely by the family from the floor up, opening in 2006.
