In this video, we share observations about the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge mid-bridge! It’s located on US Highway 64 West, 10 miles (16 km) northwest of Taos, New Mexico. Constructed 650 feet above the Rio Grande River among a breathtaking and rugged high desert landscape of the North American Southwest, it’s known locally as the “Gorge Bridge” or the “High Bridge” A steel deck arch bridge, it’s the second highest bridge on the U.S. Highway System and fifth highest bridge in the United States. During construction in the 1960s, funding did not exist to continue the road on the other side, leading to its nickname, the “Bridge to Nowhere.” It’s appeared in Hollywood, films, including Terminator Salvation and Natural Born Killers.
